Matteo Fossi and the Quartetto Savinio have been cooperating for many years, basing their work on a profound sharing of artistic and musical ideals, contending with all the main masterpieces of the repertoire for piano quintet. They focused their attention with passion and curiosity on less famous but absolutely valuable authors like Martucci, Reinecke, Dohnany etc.
They performed for several famous Italian and foreign music Associations; in 2001 they recorded for Decca, the Quintet op.81 by A.Dvoràk, and the Quintet op.57 by D. Shostakovich. In the project that will include the three String Quartet op.41, they will soon record the complete work of the Trios for Piano and Strings by Robert Schumann, Brilliant Classics edition.
